Hello,
It’s currently 3:46 am in Austin, and I am laying in bed with my laptop writing to you. Initially, I was pumped to write this-full of energy and excited to stay up all night, full of life. Now? Not so much lol. The energy has faded from my body and all I want to do is sleep. Iv’e just been wanting to start a blog for so long- I have all these thoughts and ideas, but as soon as it actually comes to it, I get a little silly and wimp out.
I knew starting blog would be a lot of work, but holy guacamole, I did not anticipate it taking THIS long. I feel like everything I do takes hours, and when I’m done, it’s STILL not enough. Maybe it really is this hard, or maybe I’m making things a million times harder for myself on accident, lol, but tonight I’ll just take a step back, breathe, and just talk.

Nightly Unwind
At some point I will have to rewrite this, but at some point my blog will also be a lot more organized and maintained. So for now, here is what I did tonight in terms of skincare and unwinding for bed (it is now 4:06 am haha). Maybe I just won’t go too in depth.
To preface, I’ve spent the past 8 hours watching Devious Maids and attempting to finish this impossible Monet puzzle that my boyfriend got me over a year ago, and mama’s back is ACHING!
First, I double cleansed with DHC’s cleansing oil. I went for a walk this morning, so I put some sunscreen on, as well as some Vaseline to make sure my skin doesn’t dry out in the colder weather (very important, guys – the sunscreen AND keeping your skin moisturized in the winter). There’s no set amount of time I do this, I just aim for a minimum of five minutes every night. Boy oh boy do I love double cleansing. MY boyfriend does too – he says it’s like a fun little facial to get him motivated to do his skincare.
After that, I rinsed the oil off, washed my face with a gentle cleanser, then splashed my face with ice-cold water and patted my face dry with a clean washcloth. I followed this with the application of my vitamin C serum and a pea-sized amount of retinol pro! I’ve seen conflicting opinions and articles on their combined use, so I’m still not sure if that’s a good thing to do, lol. But don’t worry, If I do any further writing on it, I’ll have all of my research squared out. If there’s one thing I hate, it’s uninformed advice and opinions lol.
I topped this all off with a smidge of Vaseline for moisture (super important with retinol) and refreshing my dry as hell lips with a fresh caramel sugar scrub.
I wrote so much about everything I did but realized it would be much better in a dedicated post, rather than my very first intro! Anyways, this was so long and so boring to read probably, but I am so excited to have my blog and my thoughts in the world. My site may not look like much now, but trust me – I have so many ideas.
If you’ve read this far, thank you. I hope you stick around.
